About the Company

Summit Materials was formed by its CEO Tom Hill and a small group of investors, including Blackstone Capital Partners (an affiliate of The Blackstone Group) and Silverhawk Capital Partners. Summit Materials completed its first acquisition in late 2009 and since then has closed on more than 60 acquisitions, which are organized into 12 operating companies in three divisions across the United States and western Canada.

 

About the Person

Anne Benedict joined Summit Materials in October 2013. Prior to Summit Materials, Anne was a corporate partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. Her practice involved a wide range of corporate law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic transactions, securities offerings, securities regulation and disclosure issues, and corporate governance matters. Anne graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1999. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Psychology from the University of Michigan in 1995.
