Arctaris utilizes an innovative capital structure, blending public capital from federal and state government agencies with private capital from institutional investors, foundations, and CRA banks. As a result, each of Arctaris` funds is designed to provide attractive returns along with the benefit of principal-protection, while also spurring economic development in underserved communities. In 2018, Arctaris launched its 4th fund, the Arctaris Impact Fund, LP, which aims to originate $500m of growth capital investments to businesses in underserved regions with an emphasis on inner cities and targeted rural communities. The Impact Fund`s structure is designed to provide above-market returns, liquidity, principal-protection, and CRA credit (for bank investors), while revitalizing underserved communities. The Fund includes significant principal-protection through foundations and government partners. In 2019, Arctaris launched its 5th fund, the Arctaris Opportunity Zone Fund 2019, LLC, which received significant allocation and principal guarantees from the Kresge Foundation, the State of Maine, and other government economic development agency partners. And in 2020, Arctaris launched its 6th fund, the Arctaris Opportunity Zone Fund 2020, LLC, which builds on the success of the 2019 Opportunity Zone Fund in underserved communities throughout the U.S.
