The ITT Technical Institutes are a leading private college system focused on technology-oriented programs of study. There are over 130 ITT Technical Institutes in 38 states. The ITT Technical Institutes predominantly offer career-focused, degree programs to approximately 47,000 students. With a mission to "Educate Every Child," Dare County`s 11 public schools serve a growing student population approaching 5000. Since 2003, the district has increase facilities by 44% through new construction and by additions/major renovations - four new schools have been added to the system. DCS has a thriving professional climate in which the numbers of Nationally Board Certified teachers (currently 62) is steadily increasing and approximately 1/3 of our teachers have earned advanced degrees. Each Dare County school has received accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
