The YMCA of Central Kentucky has been a cornerstone of the community for over 150 years. As a movement, the Y has always adapted to meet the needs of its local community in youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. For more than 45 years, Acts Retirement-Life Communities has met the retirement lifestyle and healthcare needs of older adults living in our communities. Our company began in 1971 with the vision of a church pastor and his congregation whose goal was to create an environment that offered seniors a rewarding lifestyle and high quality healthcare if ever needed. Today, Acts is the largest not-for-profit owner, operator and developer of continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) in the United States. Our 23 communities currently serve approximately 9,700 residents in nine states. Volunteers of America of Massachusetts helps more than 3,000 individuals and their families annually through an array of residential and outpatient services including Residential Treatment Services, Veteran Services, Re-Entry, Outpatient Behavioral Health Treatment, and Independent and Assisted Living for seniors.
The Convergent Research team helps incubate and launch Focused Research Organizations, a new model to fill gaps in the R&D ecosystem to tackle global challenges as Schmidt Futures Network`s first initiative. At Convergent Research we launch large-scale, high-impact science projects. We aim to help fill a structural gap in today`s R&D system. We enable fundamental research that requires unusual levels of scale and coordination yet is not rapidly monetizable by industry.
The mission of the YMCA of the Foothills is to organize, develop, finance, and conduct programs for an association of persons of all ages that will, by putting Christian principles into practice, enrich the quality of their lives spiritually, mentally, physically and socially.
