St. Joseph Health (SJH) is an integrated health care delivery system providing a broad range of medical services. The system is organized into three regions--Northern California, Southern California, and West Texas/Eastern New Mexico - and consists of 14 acute care hospitals, as well as home health agencies, hospice care, outpatient services, skilled nursing facilities, community clinics, and physician organizations. The facilities that comprise SJH offer a wide variety of services within each of the three regions. PHSA`s primary role is to ensure that BC residents have access to a coordinated network of high-quality specialized health care services. PHSA operates provincial agencies including BC Children`s Hospital, BC Women`s Hospital + Health Centre, BC Emergency Health Services, BC Cancer Agency, BC Centre for Disease Control and BC Transplant. It is also responsible for specialized provincial health services like chest surgery and trauma services, which are delivered in a number of locations in the regional health authorities as well specialized programs that operate across several PHSA agencies.
