At Karuna, our purpose is to create and deliver transformative medicines for people living with psychiatric and neurological conditions. Through the cultivation of our deep expertise in neuroscience, and inventive thinking around drug discovery and development, we are advancing a pipeline of novel medicines with the goal of providing a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by these conditions. Our culture is defined by our passion to serve those affected by mental illness. We are purpose-driven and intentional. We know impactful innovations don`t come easy, but are borne from passion and hard work. Together, we are working toward a goal bigger than ourselves.
Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is developing innovative medicines for oncology, with a pipeline that includes several product candidates in later-stage clinical development. Progenics` first-in-class PSMA-targeted technology platform for prostate cancer includes an antibody drug conjugate therapeutic which completed a two-cohort phase 2 clinical trial and a small molecule imaging agent that has also completed a phase 2 trial. Among other assets in its pipeline of targeted radiotherapy and molecular imaging compounds is Azedra™, an ultra-orphan radiotherapy candidate currently in a phase 2 study under an SPA. Progenics’ first commercial product, RELISTOR® (methylnaltrexone bromide) for opioid-induced constipation, is partnered with and marketed by Salix Pharmaceuticals, Ltd., a Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc.
Arsanis is a leader in the discovery and development of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) for the targeted immunotherapy of serious infections. Monoclonal antibodies have transformed the treatment of a wide range of diseases from cancer to immune system disorders. In infectious diseases, mAbs can target directly specific pathogens or their virulence mechanisms to avoid pathogenic processes in the infected individual, including resistant strains that give rise to serious infections. Unlike traditional antimicrobials that often target both pathogenic and non-pathogenic organisms in a non-specific way (e.g., broadly killing all Gram-positive bacteria), Arsanis` monoclonal antibodies selectively focus on specific pathogens and pathogenic processes. These targeted immunotherapies address critical infections while minimizing the collateral damage from antimicrobial overuse, resistance, and microbiome disruption. We believe that the ability to selectively and safely target causative pathogens provides a new way of preventing and treating infections in high-risk patients, and can generate both clinical and health economic benefits to patients and providers, ushering in a new era in infection prevention and management.
