It responds to compliance requests within 48 hours and monitors naval activity to ensure access to the Gulf of Aqaba. The organization facilitates dialogue between Egypt and Israel through its liaison system. Its structure includes military components, such as infantry battalions and support units, as well as civilian observers from the U.S. State Department and retired military personnel. The MFO has maintained stability in Sinai for over four decades, emphasizing neutrality and adaptability in its operations.
