About the Person
Ms. Brandy L. Treadway has been Senior Vice President and General Counsel at J. C. Penney Company, Inc. since August 22, 2017. Previously at J. C. Penney Company, Inc., she served as Vice President, Interim General Counsel from June 2017 to August 2017, Vice President, Associate General Counsel from 2016 to June 2017, Assistant General Counsel from 2014 to 2016, Senior Managing Counsel from 2012 to 2014, and Senior Counsel from 2011 to 2012. Ms. Treadway serves as an Associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. She is also a Member of the corporate department and serves at the Dallas office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, prior to which she served at the London office since November 2004. Ms. Treadway is an U.S. qualified lawyer whose practice involves a wide variety of corporate matters, including corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, workouts and restructurings and corporate governance. Her experience includes high yield debt offerings, initial public offerings and rights offering as well as counseling clients regarding general compliance issues with the US securities laws. She has also contributed to articles in the SMU Law Review for summer 2002. Ms. Treadway has received a J.D., magna cum laude, in 2002 from the Southern Methodist University and a B.A., with distinction, in 1996 from the University of Virginia.
