About the Company

NRG Energy, Inc. is a large American energy company, dual-headquartered in West Windsor Township, New Jersey, near Princeton and Houston, Texas. In late 2005, NRG Energy bought Texas-based Texas Genco from a group of private equity firms for roughly $5.9 billion. In May 2009, NRG entered this market by acquiring the retail operations of Reliant Energy. NRG's retail service serves 1.6 million customers in Texas. The retail operations continue to operate under the Reliant Energy name while the remainder of the former Reliant Energy became RRI Energy.

 

About the Person

Brian Curci is General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for NRG Energy, where he oversees all Legal, Regulatory, Environmental, Governance and Communications activities and personnel. These teams work with internal and external stakeholders to protect and enhance NRG’s business, reputation and objectives. Prior to this role, he served NRG as Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, and in various other roles within the Legal department over the last 10 years.   Before joining NRG in 2007, Brian was an Associate at Saul Ewing LLP, in Philadelphia. During his time at Saul Ewing he worked primarily on public company matters for companies within and outside of the energy industry.   Brian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Fairfield University and his Juris Doctor degree from Widener University School of Law.
