As a regional, nonprofit healthcare system, caring for people in the community is not only what Centra does, but it is also central to who we are. We care for our patients like we would care for our own friends and family. Formed in 1987, we are based in Lynchburg and serve over half-a-million people across central and southside Virginia through an established network of facilities and services. We operate four hospitals, five medical centers, a nationally award-winning cardiovascular care center, a cancer center, a 24/7 virtual care platform, and 15 primary care and various specialty practices as part of our Centra Medical Group. We also offer a wide range of senior, post-acute, and mental health care services.
Texas Health Resources is one of the largest faith-based, nonprofit health care delivery systems in the United States and the largest in North Texas in terms of patients served. The system`s primary service area consists of 16 counties in north central Texas, home to more than 6.2 million people. Texas Health was formed in 1997 with the assets of Fort Worth-based Harris Methodist Health System and Dallas-based Presbyterian Healthcare Resources. Later that year, Arlington Memorial Hospital joined the Texas Health system. Texas Health has 25 acute-care and short-stay hospitals that are owned, operated, joint-ventured or affiliated with the system.
