The mission of the U.S. Coast Guard is to protect the public, the environment, and U.S. economic interests — in the nation`s ports and waterways, along the coast, on international waters, or in any maritime region as required to support national security. The Defense Commissary Agency operates a worldwide chain of commissaries providing groceries to military personnel, retirees and their families in a safe and secure shopping environment. Authorized patrons purchase items at cost plus a 5–percent surcharge, which covers the costs of building new commissaries and modernizing existing ones. Shoppers save an average of more than 30 percent on their purchases compared to commercial prices – savings amounting to thousands of dollars annually. United States Food and Drug Administration is an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services. The FDA`s organization consists of the Office of the Commissioner and four directorates overseeing the core functions of the agency: Medical Products and Tobacco, Foods, Global Regulatory Operations and Policy, and Operations. The FDA is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nation`s food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation.
