Founded in 1946, the Warriors called the city of Philadelphia home for 16 memorable years before moving to the West Coast in 1962 to become the San Francisco Warriors and ultimately, in 1971, the Golden State Warriors when the team moved to its current home in Oakland. The team`s storied history includes five NBA Championships, six of the NBA`s 50 Greatest Players and 27 members of Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Chase Center will host approximately 200 events per year and be a destination for the entire Bay Area. The Warriors D-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, just finished their fifth season in Northern California and have appeared in the NBA D-League Finals in each of their first three seasons in Santa Cruz (2012-13 through 2014-15) and won the D-League Championship in 2015. As an organization, the Warriors strive to be the best sports and entertainment organization in the world.
