We are a familiar face and trusted friend in central and southwest Minnesota but with a new name. The new name – United Community Action Partnership, Inc. (UCAP) – was adopted through the merging of two organizations (Heartland Community Action and Western Community Action) with a rich history of helping people, changing lives, and working to eliminate poverty in the lives of people in Cottonwood, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Lincoln, Lyon, McLeod, Meeker, Redwood, and Renville counties. UCAP is a joint effort to bring together area resources to effectively and efficiently address the growing needs of our local communities in southwest Minnesota. We continue to hold true to our history of being a “grass-roots” private nonprofit organization that is represented and led by the communities we serve.
OneGoal`s mission is to close the college divide by enlisting and training our nation`s best educators to teach historically underserved high school students how to enroll in and complete college. OneGoal targets historically underserved students in low-income high schools with an average incoming GPA of 2.7 and an incoming ACT/SAT score of 15/729 to become OneGoal Fellows.
