About the Person

Formerly EDC senior attorney, Christine Filosa directs EDC's Office of Legal Affairs, which represents EDC in all legal matters and handles a range of issues, including intellectual property, employment law, immigration, real estate, risk management, new business, and corporate and international issues. Filosa was recently presented with the highest award for legal professional excellence from the trade group InsideNGO, which cited her work as an outstanding example of the power of high-impact operations in the NGO community. Filosa is credited with implementing software for tracking expenses and legal data and developments at EDC. She also led, in conjunction with EDC's IT department, the revision and implementation of several new department policies and enhanced reporting systems. Before joining EDC in 2002, Filosa worked as an associate for the law firm of Peabody & Arnold LLP in Boston and also clerked for Chief Justice Joseph P. Warner at the Massachusetts Appeals Court. She received her JD from Suffolk Law School. Filosa is based in EDC's headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts.
