About the Person

Chris is a Principal at Harbor View Advisors with more than ten years of experience as an attorney, entrepreneur, operating executive and investor in the technology and healthcare sectors. Prior to joining Harbor View, Chris was Chief Operating Officer of Knowledge Infusion, LLC, a leading provider of strategic and deployment consulting services for Human Capital Management technology. Chris was instrumental in managing Knowledge Infusion’s significant growth and was responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s sale to Appirio, Inc. in October of 2012. Prior to joining Knowledge Infusion, Chris was Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel of Black Diamond Performance Reporting, LLC where he helped grow the company from $1.5 million in revenue to more than $12 million in four years.  Black Diamond was the leading independent provider of Web-based, outsourced portfolio management and reporting platforms to independent advisors until its $73 million acquisition by Advent Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADVS) in June of 2011. In his role as Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel, Chris was responsible for negotiating significant strategic and collaboration agreements with national financial institutions and other third party technology providers and providing strategic advice and counsel to the company’s founder, executive team and board. Finally, Chris assumed a comprehensive role in the internal management of Black Diamond’s sale to Advent. Prior to joining Black Diamond, Chris was an attorney in the Corporate & Securities and Tax Groups at Bass, Berry & Sims PLC in Nashville, Tennessee (“Bass”).  During his tenure at Bass, Chris served in a variety of capacities for his clients throughout their lifecycles from initial formation and capital raising to general counsel and mergers and acquisitions to exits via public markets and private transactions. Chris is active with civic, educational and community activities. He chairs the Strategic Advisory Committee of Second Harvest North Florida and serves on the Board of Directors of its parent organization, LSS, Inc. He also sits on the Alumni Board of the University of Mississippi Patterson School of Accountancy. In addition, Chris participates  in the United Way’s Stein Fellowship program. Chris graduated from the University of Mississippi, where he received a Bachelor of Accountancy, magna cum laude, and a Master of Taxation. He received his juris doctorate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee School of Law, where he served as Managing Editor of the Tennessee Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Following law school, Chris obtained his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law where he received the Harry J. Rudick award for distinction in the Graduate Tax Program.
