Founded in 1910 and located in Durham, N.C., North Carolina Central University was the nation`s first publicly supported liberal arts college for African-Americans, and it is one of 17 institutions in the University of North Carolina system. With a student population of more than 8,400, NCCU is a comprehensive university offering baccalaureate, master`s, doctoral and professional degree programs. Today, liberal arts remain a signature program at NCCU, joined by five additional areas of academic emphasis: Education, Nursing, Biosciences, Business and Law. Capitalizing on its location in the heart of North Carolina`s Research Triangle, the university is home to two bioscience research institutes. Onondaga Community College is a college of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and one of 30 locally sponsored community colleges throughout New York State. Onondaga County is our sponsor. We offer two-year degree programs that serve as transfer opportunities to baccalaureate degree programs at four-year campuses or for direct entry to the workforce. We also offer certificate programs that can generally be completed in one year.
