The Covington Exempted Village School District is organized under Article VI, Sections 2 and 3 of the Constitution of the State of Ohio. The District operates under a locally-elected Board form of government consisting of five members elected at-large for staggered four year terms. Thanks to the support of the Fremont community, a newly constructed middle school was opened on January 19, 2012. Fremont City Schools achieved an Excellent rating on the State of Ohio District Report Card for the 2011-2012 school year.
