Mason City Community School District serves approximately 3,725 students. The District covers 95 square miles. The Board of Education is made up of seven elected members. The District has four elementary schools, one intermediate school, one middle school, one high school and one alternative high school. The District has a 4-year-old preschool that can serve 80 students. Mason City Community School District has a strong tradition of music excellence.
