Fayette County is a county located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2010 census, the population was 136,606. Its county seat is Uniontown. The county was created on September 26, 1783, from part of Westmoreland County and named after the Marquis de Lafayette. Fayette County is part of the Pittsburgh, PA Metropolitan Statistical Area, as well as the much larger Pittsburgh-New Castle-Weirton, PA-OH-WV Combined Statistical Area.
