The goal of St. Anthony Shawnee Hospital is to meet the health care needs of the families and communities we serve while seeking efficient, cost effective ways to operate our facilities and services. We are continually pursuing new ways to broaden the physician specialties available to our patients and their families. With more than 70 physicians on the active staff, and over 600 health professionals, we are committed to providing exceptional health care. In July 2012, St. Anthony Shawnee Hospital joined SSM Health Care, a Catholic, not-for-profit health system with an international reputation as a pioneer in quality measures to improve care. With 6,500 physicians and more than 24,000 employees, SSM owns 16 hospitals in Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Illinois and Missouri and serves nearly 1.5 million people annually. In Oklahoma, SSM includes St. Anthony Hospital, Bone and Joint Hospital at St. Anthony, and St. Anthony Physicians as well as a network of 20 Saints 1st affiliated hospitals.
The MESH Coalition is an innovative non-profit, public-private partnership that enables healthcare providers to respond effectively to emergency events and remain viable through recovery. The MESH Coalition supports effective healthcare sector emergency management by providing preparedness and planning services, innovative clinical education and training programs, healthcare intelligence services, and legal, regulatory, policy, and financial analysis. Through our systems-based approach to preparedness, MESH enables our healthcare partners to work together more effectively while using fewer resources. Founded in 2008, the MESH Coalition is considered one of the most sophisticated organizations of its kind in the United States. Originally funded through a grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, MESH is sustained primarily through the support of subscribing healthcare organizations.
