AFS is an international, voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world. AFS is a leader in intercultural learning and offers international exchange programs in over 50 countries around the world through independent, not-for-profit AFS organizations, each with a network of volunteers, a professionally staffed office, and headed up by a volunteer board.
For too long government and technology have operated in separate silos instead of embracing the exciting opportunities that sit at the intersection of these two powerful and influential domains. Government needs, and the people it serves deserve, new ideas and technologies to make it more efficient, effective and responsive. As such, technologists and innovators have an important role to play in addressing our nation`s most pressing problems. Lincoln was born from the optimistic view that when technology and government meet, under the right conditions and with the right tools, both worlds win. Through hackathons, meetups and online engagement, we provide opportunities for the entrepreneurial community to come together and both collaborate on and learn about market-based, tech-powered solutions to our nation`s biggest problems.
