The team’s mascot – Mr. Met – was the first mascot for a professional sports team and is enshrined in the Mascot Hall of Fame. ‘Ya Gotta Believe’ is a synonymous rallying cry by the fan base. The Mets have had several legendary managers throughout their history, including: Casey Stengel, Gil Hodges, Yogi Berra, Bobby Valentine and current skipper Terry Collins.
