The North Carolina Department of Commerce is the states lead agency for economic, community and workforce development. Taking a comprehensive approach to economic development, the Departments work reaches many areas. The Department helps people find jobs and employers find and retain a qualified workforce. The Department administers the states employment security system, supporting workers during career transitions. The Department provides local communities with grants and planning services to spur infrastructure development and economic growth, and administers the states economic incentive programs. The Department is also responsible for recruiting companies to the state, helping existing North Carolina companies expand, encouraging business start-ups, enabling companies to export, and marketing North Carolina as a business and visitor destination. In October 2014, the Department entered a contract with a new public-private organization, the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) to take the lead in these recruiting and marketing functions.
Framingham was incorporated as a town on June 25, 1700. Chapter 143 of the Acts of 1949 established the Town of Framingham Representative Town Government by Limited Town Meetings. The Citizens of Framingham adopted the Home Rule Charter for the City of Framingham at an election held on April 5, 2017. The benefits of local government outlined in the Home Rule Charter affirm the values of representative democracy, strong leadership, and citizen participation. On November 7, 2017 the citizens of Framingham elected the first Mayor, City Council and School Committee, who were sworn into office on January 1, 2018. EXECUTIVE & LEGISLATIVE BRANCHES The executive and administrative powers of the municipality are solely vested in the Mayor, and may be exercised by the Mayor either personally or through several municipal agencies under the general supervision and control of the Mayor. The Mayor shall enforce the charter, the laws, the ordinances and other orders of the municipality and record all official acts of the executive branch of City government. The Mayor shall exercise general supervision and direction over all municipal agencies, unless otherwise provided by law, by the charter or by ordinance. City Council is the sole legislative body of the City, and is therefore responsible for passing all City ordinances. The City Council is made up of eleven (11) members which shall exercise the legislative powers of Framingham. Two (2) of these members are known as councilors-at-large and nine (9) members are known as district councilors.
The history of Arkansas began millennia ago when humans first crossed into North America. Many tribes used Arkansas as their hunting lands but the main tribe was the Quapaw who settled in Arkansas River delta upon moving south from Illinois. Early French explorers gave the territory its name, a corruption of Akansea, which is a phonetic spelling of the Illinois word for the Quapaw.[1] This phonetic heritage explains why "Arkansas" is pronounced so differently than "Kansas" even though they share the same spelling.[2] What began as a rough wilderness inhabited by trappers and hunters became incorporated into the United States as part of the Louisiana Purchase in 1803 and became Arkansas Territory in 1819. Upon gaining statehood in 1836, Arkansas had begun to prosper under a plantation economy that was heavily reliant on slave labor. After the Civil War Arkansas was a poor rural state based on cotton. Prosperity returned in the 1940s. The state became famous for its political leadership, including President Bill Clinton (Governor, 1979−81 and 1983−92), and as the base for the Walmart corporation.

With a population of more than 450,000 people, Lucas County is located in northwest Ohio and is approximately 344 square miles in size. From the county seat in Toledo (Ohio`s fourth largest city), Lucas County operates 47 separate agencies and elected offices, employs more than 4,400 people in 21 buildings throughout the county. The core purpose of Lucas County`s IS Department (LCIS) is to enable local government to increase and improve levels of service to the taxpayer while lowering delivery costs.
