DCYF is a cabinet-level agency focused on the well-being of children. Our vision is to ensure that Washington states children and youth grow up safe and healthy—thriving physically, emotionally and academically, nurtured by family and community. DCYF is the lead agency for state-funded services that support children and families to build resilience and health, and to improve educational outcomes. We accomplish this by partnering with state and local agencies, tribes and other organizations in communities across the state of Washington. Our focus is to support children and families at their most vulnerable points, giving them the tools they need to succeed. Brain science tells us that laying a strong foundation, early in life, critically impacts healthy development. The science also tells us that addressing trauma, especially at critical transition points in the lives of youth, helps ensure successful transition into adulthood. To truly give all children the great start in school and life they deserve, DCYF was created to be a comprehensive agency exclusively dedicated to the social, emotional and physical well-being of children, youth and families — an agency that prioritizes early learning, prevention and early intervention at critical points along the age continuum from birth through adolescence.
Franklin County was separated from St. Louis County and established in 1818, and is named after founding father, Benjamin Franklin. The county seat was originally in the village of Newport, but was permanently moved to the City of Union in 1825. Nestled in the east central portion of Missouri, Franklin County provides a unique environment for the style of living that anyone would desire. Franklin County is a suburban county of the St. Louis metropolitan area that provides both rural and urban living opportunities for approximately 100,000 residents. Among the 922 square mile area of Franklin County one can still find cattle and row crop farms on the outskirts of its communities. Franklin County also welcomes many visitors during the mild weather months for a variety of attractions. The Robertsville State Park and Meramec State Park, among many private recreational businesses, provide opportunities to camp, fish, and float along the scenic Meramec River. Communities in Franklin County also offer a great deal of tourist possibilities for events such as fairs, festivals, and entertainment.
Rockdale County is positioned 30 miles east of Atlanta on Interstate 20, perfectly positioned in the Metro Atlanta area with surrounding counties of Newton, Dekalb, Henry, Fulton and Walton. In order to attract businesses to the Rockdale County area, the Rockdale County MIS is investing heavily in the development of new fiber networks, radio communications systems and new Web Site development and hosting.
The mission of the Texas Legislative Council is to provide professional, nonpartisan service and support to the Texas Legislature and legislative agencies. In every area of responsibility, we strive for quality and efficiency. The council is a nonpartisan legislative agency that serves as a source of impartial services, research, and information to the legislative branch. It employs professional, administrative, and technical staff to assist legislators in drafting proposed legislation and in obtaining information on specific legislative issues and on matters affecting the general welfare of the state. Council staff also handle the printing, processing, and distribution of legislative documents and provide computer support to the legislature and all of the other legislative agencies. Under general direction of its executive director and the leadership team, the council staff is organized into five divisions: administration, legal, research, information systems, and document production.
