Nashville, TN-based Tennessee Administrative Office of the Courts has Promoted Jeana Hendrix as Assistant General Counsel
The Tennessee Supreme Court is the state`s court of last resort. The five Supreme Court justices may accept appeals of civil and criminal cases from lower state courts. They also interpret the laws and constitutions of Tennessee and the United States. The Supreme Court may assume jurisdiction over undecided cases in the Court of Appeals or Court of Criminal Appeals when there is special need for an expedited decision.
In this role,Jeana Hendrix will be tracking proposed legislation, preparing fiscal notes, providing legal and procedural advice, and preparing judicial publications, reports and manuals as well as participating as legal staff support for task forces, commissions, committees. Hendrix mostly recently served as the Juvenile Court Services Coordinator for the AOC, where she previously held the position of Indigent Defense Manager. In addition, Hendrix has worked as an assistant district attorney in the 22nd Judicial District, a deputy clerk in the Maury County Clerk’s office, and counsel to the Tennessee General Assembly. Hendrix, of Nashville, earned a JD at the Nashville School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Alabama.
