About the Person

After working in a private law firm, Joey Loudermilk joined Aflac in 1983 as head of the Company’s then newly formed Legal Department. In 1988, he assumed responsibility for Governmental Relations. In February 1989, he became treasurer for Aflac Incorporated’s political action committee (Aflac-PAC) and was appointed senior vice president, corporate counsel, for Aflac Incorporated in 1989. In 1991 he was promoted to general counsel of Aflac Incorporated and Aflac, and in 2000 he was promoted to his current position as executive vice president. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, and serves on the boards of the Columbus Regional Healthcare System, Inc., Goodwill Industries, the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley, and the Columbus State University Foundation. In 2008, he was elected to the Harris County Board of Commissioners and reelected in 2012. He has also served on the Georgia State Board of Education, Georgia Humanities Council, and the Georgia Military Affairs Coordinating Committee and is former president of the Rotary Club of Columbus. He earned a bachelor’s degree with honors from Georgia State University and a juris doctorate degree from the University of Georgia School Of Law.
