Terre Haute, IN-based Indiana State University has Promoted Katie Butwin as General Counsel

Katie Butwin has been serving as director of Indiana State’s legal studies program and as a faculty member in the political science department. She holds a juris doctorate from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago and bachelor’s degrees in English and political science from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has previously served as assistant counsel at Indiana State as well as vice president/general counsel and associate general counsel at DePaul. She has twice received the Outstanding Faculty Member Award from the Office of Residential Life First Year Initiative Program. In addition to her teaching at Indiana State, she has served as director of the university’s McNair Graduate Opportunity Program. Butwin served as a deputy prosecutor for Vigo County from 2006 to 2008 and as an associate attorney with Churchill, Baumgartner and Quinn in Grayslake, Ill.
