The Missouri Baptist Foundation develops, manages, and distributes financial resources to benefit mission and ministry efforts of Baptists in Missouri, in the state, across America, and around the world. Established in 1946, the Missouri Baptist Foundation began with three accounts and assets of about $80,000. It has grown to manage more than $158 million in assets today, representing nearly 1,000 accounts. In fiscal 2014, the Foundation distributed nearly $12 million in principal and income to Baptist and other causes in Missouri and around the world. The Foundation is directed by the Board of Trustees and is operated by staff at its headquarters in Jefferson City and at satellite offices in St. Louis and Kansas City.
Youth Villages is a national leader in children`s mental and behavioral health, bringing help and hope to tens of thousands of children, families and young people across the United States every year. Founded in 1986, the organization`s 3,000-plus employees help more than 30,000 children annually in 21 states across the U.S. For more than 30 years, we have worked to find solutions using proven treatment models that strengthen the child`s family and support systems and dramatically improve their long-term success. Since 1994, our organization has tracked every child who completes a program and has recorded consistently high success rates. In 2018, 86% of the children are still living successfully at home with their families 12 months after completing their program. Share Our Strength began in the basement of a row house on Capitol Hill in 1984, in response to the `84-`85 famine in Ethiopia. Brother and sister Bill and Debbie Shore started the organization with the belief that everyone has a strength to share in the global fight against hunger and poverty, and that in these shared strengths lie sustainable solutions. Today we focus these strengths on making No Kid Hungry a reality in America.
