Philadelphia, PA-based Echo Therapeutics has announced the Resignation of Kimberly Burke as General Counsel

 

About the Company

Echo Therapeutics is developing its Symphony CGM System as a non-invasive, wireless, continuous glucose monitoring system. A significant consumer (non-regulated) opportunity also exists for Symphony to be used in the fitness, weight loss and personal lifestyle space. Echo also developed its needle-free skin preparation device as a platform technology that allowed for enhanced skin permeation enabling extraction of analytes, such as glucose, and enhanced delivery of topical pharmaceuticals.

 

About the Person

Kimberly A. Burke, JD serves as Chief Compliance Officer, Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Echo Therapeutics, Inc. since April 2012, January 2011 and January 10, 2011 respectively. Ms. Burke serves as Director of Legal Affairs at Cato Research and General Counsel at Hemodynamic Therapeutics. She served as an Interim Chief Executive Officer of Echo Therapeutics, Inc. from June 2014 to August 30, 2014 and served as its Secretary since 2010. Her areas of practice include general corporate law and business planning. She was as an Associate and Senior Associate General Counsel of Cato BioVentures. Previously, Ms. Burke served as the General Counsel at Durham Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Prior to joining Cato BioVentures, she was an In-house Corporate Counsel at Investors Title Company and a Corporate Associate with the Business and Tax Planning and Finance practice groups in the Boston metro office of Devine, Millimet & Branch. Ms. Burke serves as an Associate Articles Editor at William & Mary Law Review. She was admitted to New Hampshire Bar in 1999 and is also admitted to practice law in Massachusetts. Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Ms. Burke holds a BA from Mount Holyoke College in 1996 and a JD from College of William & Mary, School of Law in 1999.
