About the Person

Lawrence Jacobs is executive vice president and global general counsel of Las Vegas Sands (LVS), a role he assumed in September 2016. He is responsible for the leadership and oversite of the company’s legal affairs around the world.   Mr. Jacobs is a seasoned public company general counsel and has had a long distinguished legal career in both private practice and in the corporate world.   Prior to joining LVS, Mr. Jacobs served as executive vice president and general counsel for Time Inc., as well as senior executive vice president and group general counsel for News Corporation. Additionally, he served as general counsel of Empire State Development, New York State’s chief economic development agency. Mr. Jacobs began his legal career at Squadron Ellenoff (now Hogan Lovell’s).   Mr. Jacobs is a Trustee of the New-York Historical Society, Muhlenberg College, Literacy Partners, and American Corporate Partners, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States.   He graduated from Temple University, summa cum laude, and Brooklyn Law School, cum laude, where he was a member of the Law Review.  Mr. Jacobs lives in Las Vegas with his wife, Hannah.  The couple has two adult children, Emily and Molly.
