Alegent Creighton Health carries on the faith traditions of our founders: The Sisters of Mercy, the Immanuel Lutheran communities, and the Jesuits of Creighton University. Each brought a distinct way of practicing the Christian faith, but all shared a calling and passion for serving those most in need in our community through compassionate care and excellence in medicine. In 2012, Catholic Health Initiatives accepted full sponsorship of Alegent Creighton Health bringing the together 15 acute care hospitals, 4 behavioral health facilities, 2 specialty hospitals, over 120 clinics, and multiple health services across the Nebraska and Iowa region to carry on this healing ministry.

In July 2012, St. Anthony Shawnee Hospital joined SSM Health Care, a Catholic, not-for-profit health system with an international reputation as a pioneer in quality measures to improve care. With 6,500 physicians and more than 24,000 employees, SSM owns 16 hospitals in Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Illinois and Missouri and serves nearly 1.5 million people annually. In Oklahoma, SSM includes St. Anthony Hospital, Bone and Joint Hospital at St. Anthony, and St. Anthony Physicians as well as a network of 20 Saints 1st affiliated hospitals.

Columbia Memorial has served our region since 1893. The hospital you visit today, however, is one of the newest, most innovative and technically advanced facilities in the Hudson Valley. Everything we do, hiring the best and the brightest and rebuilding our entire hospital, is designed with one specific goal: to provide you with expert care. We are the community's hospital. Serving more than 100,000 residents in Columbia, Greene and Dutchess counties, the hospital focuses on advanced surgery, primary care and health education. It is a 192-bed acute care hospital. We also operate a 120-bed long-term care site as well as 26 outlying primary and specialty care centers. We've invested more than $51 million in new facilities and equipment in the last ten years including surgical instrumentation, patient information systems and medical imaging technologies. Columbia Memorial also has a 71,300 square foot office building and parking garage annex on campus making your care and treatment easily accessible. Our Kellner Wing houses state-of-the-art emergency and surgical departments. Our Emergency Department uses an advanced computer system to reduce patient waiting time and assist doctors and nurses in tracking patient care. It is also being used as a "preparedness tool" to help us track health information and identify public health emergencies. We now have a new 9 bed Intensive Care Unit which provides more space for our patients in order to accommodate cutting edge technology at each bedside. Each patient has an individual room to provide for privacy and windows and skylights to enhance the healing process.
