About the Person

Marisa Iasenza is general counsel and corporate secretary of HARMAN, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.   Marisa is responsible for all legal affairs of the company, including corporate transactions, litigation, intellectual property, insurance and risk management, corporate governance and regulatory compliance. She reports to President and Chief Executive Officer, Dinesh Paliwal, and is a member of the executive committee.   Marisa joined HARMAN in 2008 as securities and M&A counsel. She has served as lead counsel for the Connected Car, Lifestyle Audio and Professional Solutions divisions. In 2011, she was appointed associate general counsel and corporate secretary.   Prior to HARMAN, Marisa served as Assistant General Counsel for United Agri Products, Inc. up to and through the acquisition of the company by Agrium, Inc. (NYSE:AGU). Previously, Marisa represented both private and public organizations through corporate law firms in Southern California, focusing on negotiating and structuring M&A transactions and financings, SEC reporting and intellectual property development and licensing.   Marisa earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from McGill University, a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Laws from the University of Miami.   Currently, Marisa is admitted to the bar in California, Québec and Connecticut (AHC).
