Patrick Henry Community College is a comprehensive two-year institution committed to student success, lifelong learning, and enrichment of the quality of life in the region it serves. Situated on 137 acres, Patrick Henry is located approximately 3 miles north of the City of Martinsville. The college has several off-campus sites: the PHCC Site in Stuart; the IDEA Center (including the Fab Lab and Community Development) in Martinsville; the Culinary Arts Lab in Martinsville; and the Racing College of Virginia in Henry County.

The University, with origins in 1743, was chartered by the State of Delaware in 1833. A Women`s College was opened in 1914, and in 1945 UD became permanently coeducational. The main campus is located in Newark, Delaware, a suburban community of nearly 30,000, situated midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Courses are also offered at the Wilmington campus and at other locations throughout the State, including Dover, Georgetown, Milford, and Lewes.
