The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada`s largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital. CAMH combines clinical care, research, education, policy development and health promotion to help transform the lives of people affected by mental health and addiction issues. As a teaching hospital, CAMH provides education, training, internships and residencies for students. People training to work in the health care field, including psychiatrists, psychologists, pharmacists, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers and laboratory technologists, come to CAMH for practical experience. We believe that Mental Health is Health, and through our work we are building a movement for social change: raising awareness, challenging prejudice, and advocating for public policies that support mental health.

This fall, we are changing our name to The University of Vermont Health Network. Each partner hospital is also making changes to its name to reflect participation in the network. Fletcher Allen Health Care will be renamed The University of Vermont Medical Center. CVPH Medical Center will adopt the name “Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital” and use that name together with “The University of Vermont Health Network” to express the affiliation in all communications. Central Vermont Medical Center and Elizabethtown Community Hospital will also use their names with “The University of Vermont Health Network” in the same manner to express their affiliation in all communications. Each of the hospitals in our network remains deeply committed to its local community. Doctors, nurses and other health professionals who work in the network will have access to the latest medical know-how and are committed to working together to provide every patient in our network the best possible care.
