Michael B. McGeehon is currently employed at Sedgwick LLP in the position of Partner and General Counsel. Mr. McGeehon heads the firm’s Directors and Officers Liability Insurance practice. Mr. McGeehon principally investigates and litigates directors and officers claims on behalf of insurers, and counsels insurers on policy wordings and emerging issues in this class of business. Mr. McGeehon joined the firm in 1977, and has been a partner since 1983. His primary practice consists of advising directors and officers liability insurers, and representing them when necessary in litigated matters. He has been the responsible partner in hundreds of directors and officers claims, many of them involving significant securities class action and derivative litigation. Mr. McGeehon has conducted all types of dispute resolution procedures, including mediation, arbitration, court and jury trial, and appeal. Mr. McGeehon is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco and the American Bar Association. Mr. McGeehon received his A.B. (1970) from Stanford University and his A.M. (1974) from Harvard University in 1974. His J.D. (1977) was conferred by the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
