About the Person

Michael P. Millikin, Mike has been Executive Vice President of General Motors Company since February 2011. Mr. Millikin has been General Counsel of General Motors Company since July 20, 2009 and served as its Vice President of Legal from July 20, 2009 to February 2011. He served as Senior Vice President of General Motors Company since February 2011. He served as an Associate General Counsel of Motors Liquidation Company (formerly known as General Motors Corporation) from June 2005 to July 2009 and was responsible for the GM Legal Staff's global processes - global teams of subject matter experts utilized to assure the coordinated delivery of legal services to GM's business units worldwide. He joined General Motors (GM) Legal Staff in 1977.In 1981, Mr. Millikin became part of GM's overseas legal matters practice area, where he served as the Head of GM's in-house litigation practice area until 1987. In 1995, with the consolidation of the GM Legal Staff's litigation functions, he was given responsibility for GM's litigation practice area. Since September 1997, Mr. Millikin moved to Zurich, Switzerland, and served as a Vice President and General Counsel of General Motors International Operations (GMIO), as well as Vice President and General Counsel of General Motors Europe. Since June 2000, he returned to GM's headquarters in Detroit, Michigan, to coordinate the delivery of legal services to GM's global operations and to assume overall legal responsibility for GM's global alliances. Mr. Millikin clerked at Judge Vincent J. Brennan of the Michigan Court of Appeals. Since 1975, he served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney's Office in Detroit, where he served as a Criminal Prosecutor for the U.S. government, concentrating on the prosecution of narcotics and narcotics conspiracy cases. He has been a Member of the Board of Directors of GM Daewoo Auto and Technology Company (GMDAT), a subsidiary of General Motors Corp., since October 2002. Mr. Millikin has been a Member of the Supervisory Board at Adam Opel GmbH, a subsidiary of General Motors Corp. since 1998. He served as a Member of Strategy Board at GMIO and General Motors Europe. He was named to the Order of the Coif, a national legal honorary society. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Michigan State University in 1970 and his Juris Doctor Degree in 1973 from Washington University School of Law.
