Matrix Systems was founded in 1979 by D. James Young, who led the company from regional energy management systems provider to nationally-recognized leader in resource management. As the product line expanded to integrate with fire and alarm systems, Matrix began to manufacture and install badge readers in an early iteration of our access control system. Over the years, Matrix took on larger and larger challenges, evolving into a company poised to provide facilities of all sizes and complexity levels with complete security management and access control solutions. When Mr. Young passed away in 1990, his wife, Joyce Young assumed leadership before passing Matrix ownership to their son, James Young, who is currently the sole shareholder.
