PCSD is a non-profit real estate development organization that advances the educational reform movement by assisting high performing charter schools with acquiring facilities. PCSD finds, acquires, finances, and builds low cost facilities for high quality charter schools. Focused on neighborhoods with chronically overcrowded and under-performing schools, our projects allow constituent charter schools to concentrate on classroom instruction rather than real estate development. Originally founded to assist the charter school movement in California and Los Angeles in particular, PCSD has partnered with select charter schools across the nation including in Boston, Memphis, and Phoenix to help them solve their facilities challenges. Over our eight year history, PCSD has created 44 schools on 32 campuses serving 17,381 students. In 2013, PCSD will deliver 2,390 seats for 5 schools in 162,538 square feet of facilities. Test scores, graduation rates, and subsequent 4-year college attendance rates have universally improved among the populations served at these new schools thanks to the efforts of the educators for which we build.
