The Opportunity
The Director of Human Resources Operations & Systems is a key HR leadership position and has overall responsibility for continuously advancing and improving human resources operational practices and procedures, HR technology, workforce analytics, employee relations, workplace policies and compliance. Maintaining a best-in-class operational infrastructure is critical to the HR function having the ability to deliver value-add services and to foster an innovative, high-performing, client focused organization.
Key priorities include: maximizing our newly implemented HR SaaS systems (Workday and Taleo) by expanding global functionality, turning up new modules and utilizing dashboards and analytics for decision making; driving workflow and process improvements within HR and cross-functionally; managing global HR compliance and risk; serving as the data privacy SME for employee data; and continuing to develop and build the capabilities of team members.
The position reports to the CHRO and directs a team of eight.
Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will a minimum of 10 years of experience with increasing responsibility in human resources, with emphasis in operational excellence, project management and metrics; HRIS; employee relations; policy administration and compliance. Ideally he/she will have at least 3 years in a similar leadership role in a mid-sized organization or in a division of a large company. Experience in a professional services environment a plus. A bachelor’s degree is required. Six Sigma Black or Green Belt highly preferred.
He/she will have a passion for leading change, creating positive process improvements and managing projects drawing on a strong foundation of cross-functional, analytical, and consensus building skills. The ability to integrate proven quality methodologies into program and process design is critical. Broad HR functional knowledge with the experience and competency to translate it into operational and automated approaches is essential. Business acumen and an ROI mindset needed.
He/she must be a systems thinker and have a results orientation with the drive to think and act strategically, to be proactive and creative, to make decisions, and to strive to execute flawlessly while at the same time have the ability to roll-up-the-sleeves and get the job done.
Keys to success in the organization’s culture are developing credibility, building relationships and influencing people across functions, geographies, and levels. Listening to and anticipating needs along with soliciting feedback and buy-in will ensure success.
