Together with our partners, we provide healthy solutions to end hunger in our community. We serve Sarasota and Desoto counties in Florida. As All Faiths Food Bank has grown from simply feeding people in need to focusing on solving the problems surrounding hunger – overall nutritional quality, access to healthy food, school nutrition and its impact on learning – we look to find ways to provide nutrition education to people of all ages. We see hunger as a health issue and work towards ending the line, not just feeding it.
Established in 1963 as a Florida not-for-profit corporation. LeadingAge Florida is committed to assisting members in achieving excellence as providers, businesses, and employers. To accomplish this goal, the Association provides up-to-date regulatory information, a wide variety of educational opportunities, representation before the legislature and government agencies, group purchasing services, and opportunities for networking with peers.
For over 62 years, we`ve led the field in supporting people with disabilities, by providing person-centered, cutting-edge, and cost-effective services. With nearly 3,000 people benefiting from our services across two states, our size, scope, and experience motivate us to develop creative new technologies and approaches to care for people with disabilities. Our best practices are nationally recognized and replicable, and have been adopted by organizations around the country to serve thousands more people at the state and national levels.
We take on the most difficult tasks to help the most under-served gain self-reliance, dignity, and hope in Minnesota. In 2014, we served more than 23,000 people and employed a staff of 800 in Minnesota and Wisconsin, in more than 110 locations. We coordinated the efforts of nearly 1,000 volunteers, who contributed over 64,000 hours of service. Volunteers of America – Minnesota and Wisconsin has nearly 120 years of experience in services for older adults; adults with special needs; children, youth and families; military and veterans; and those re-entering our communities after incarceration. We provide over $40 million in services to more than 23,000 people annually.
