The focus of our department is to serve South Dakotans and to support government services by collecting all taxes required by law, supporting motor vehicle requirements, and regulating the gaming industry and state`s lottery to raise revenue for government programs.
The Texas Comptroller`s office was originally created by the Texas provisional government in 1835. The Comptroller is the chief steward of the state`s finances, acting as tax collector, chief accountant, chief revenue estimator and chief treasurer for all of state government, in addition to administering a number of other programs.
DoIT was established as a single, unified cabinet level department that consolidates enterprise information technology services previously duplicated within state agencies. DoIT also provides IT services and functionality that improve and streamline state agencies` IT systems.
