The Secretary of State serves as Ohio`s chief elections officers and grants corporations the authority to do business in Ohio. The office also provides authentications for documents used overseas, licenses ministers to solemnize marriages in Ohio, oversees the Ohio Notary Commission and acts as the custodian for all laws passed by the General Assembly.
The Massachusetts Health Policy Commission (HPC), established in 2012, is an independent state agency charged with monitoring health care spending growth in Massachusetts and providing data-driven policy recommendations regarding health care delivery and payment system reform. The HPC`s mission is to advance a more transparent, accountable, and innovative health care system through independent policy leadership and investment programs. The agency`s main responsibilities are managed by HPC staff and overseen by an 11-member board of commissioners. HPC staff and commissioners work collaboratively to monitor and improve the performance of the health care system. Key activities include setting the health care cost growth benchmark; setting and monitoring provider and payer performance relative to the health care cost growth benchmark; creating standards for care delivery systems that are accountable to better meet patients` medical, behavioral, and social needs; analyzing the impact of health care market transactions on cost, quality, and access; and investing in community health care delivery and innovations.
Peoria County Government has 1,000 employees serving under 9 Elected Officials and 10 senior managers, the latter reporting directly to the County Administrator. 18 County Board Members set policy for the organization and determine the County's annual work plan through an effective strategic planning process that reaffirms the County's vision and mission.
NCLEJ was founded in 1965, in the heyday of the civil rights movement. NCLEJ multiplies the impact of its staff by collaborating with major law firms, as well as civil rights, civil liberties, women`s rights, immigrants` rights, and other legal advocacy organizations. NCLEJ is a leader in working collaboratively outside of litigation, both through formal and informal arrangements. NCLEJ staff excel at forging new partnerships by educating other advocates about emerging issues and advocacy strategies, presenting at conferences, convening groups of advocates over critical issues, disseminating publications widely, and expanding the use of its national listservs and website.
