The mission of the Student Government Association at The University of Alabama is to preserve and defend the rights and privileges of student self-governance, to guarantee a student voice and involvement in university decisions, to serve the common interest of students, to train ourselves in democratic government, and to promote citizenship on campus and in the community.
Celebrating 100 years of service, Citrus College is located in Glendora in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, approximately twenty-five miles northeast of metropolitan Los Angeles. The college has the distinction of being the oldest community college in Los Angeles County and the fifth oldest in the state. Citrus College was founded in 1915 under the leadership of Dr. Floyd S. Hayden, who helped bring the community college movement to California. From 1915 to 1961, the college was operated by the Citrus Union High School District. In July 1961, the Citrus Community College District was created to include the Azusa and Glendora unified school districts. In 1967, the district expanded to include the Claremont, Duarte and Monrovia school districts. Today, Citrus College occupies a 104-acre campus. The college is currently experiencing a major facilities expansion project that will change the look of the campus. The college enrolled 27 students in 1915 and currently the college serves more than 15,000 students annually. Classes are offered on a 16-week calendar (fall and spring semesters), as well as in a variety of non-traditional scheduling options -- winter intersession, evenings, summer sessions, and optional class formats, such as distance education online courses and distance education integrated classes.
Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College serves over 4,200 students from 30 countries, 18 states, and 155 of Georgia`s 159 counties at instructional sites in Tifton, Moultrie, Bainbridge, Blakely, and Donalsonville. ABAC students can select from 13 bachelor`s degrees ranging from Agriculture to Biology or a variety of associate degrees including a two-year degree in nursing leading to a career as a Registered Nurse. Over 1,300 students choose to live on campus in premier housing accommodations. ABAC offers degrees in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Agricultural Communication, Agricultural Education, Biology, Environmental Horticulture, History and Government, Natural Resource Management, Nursing, Rural Community Development, and Writing and Communication. Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College is a State College in the University System of Georgia.
Manhattan College is a Lasallian educational institution founded in 1853 by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, a Catholic religious teaching order started by Saint John Baptist de La Salle, the patron saint of teachers. De La Salle is known as the innovator of modern pedagogy for his work establishing schools to educate disadvantaged children in 17th century France.
