An independent, nonprofit research institute based in Seattle, Fred Hutch houses the nation`s first and largest cancer prevention research program, as well as the clinical coordinating center of the Women`s Health Initiative and the international headquarters of the HIV Vaccine Trials Network. Private contributions are essential for enabling Fred Hutch scientists to explore novel research opportunities that lead to important medical breakthroughs.
The Englehart and District Hospital is a modern 30-bed facility, servicing a catchment area of approximately 8,600 people. Our Family Health Team is staffed by six physicians, two nurses practitioners, a dietitian and a Registered Nurse. A dynamic Diagnostic Imaging Department consists of several services – radiology, ultrasound, ECG’s, Holter Monitors, Echocardiography and bone densitometry. The hospital’s nursing unit collaborates closely with the Community Care Access Centre and other services to provide health information to patients and their families, through a shared electronic record.
