With its founding, the university and its college of osteopathic medicine became the Pacific Northwest`s first new medical school in 60 years. It will substantially increase the number of new practicing physicians each year and prepare a new generation of doctors to serve the five million at-risk people in the area’s underserved communities.
Located in the city of Yakima, in the heart of Central Washington, the university is two hours east of Seattle, three hours west of Spokane, and three hours northeast of Portland, Oregon.
