About the Company

About the Person
Peter Mixon is the former General Counsel at the California Public Employees' Retirement System. After serving CalPERS for 17 years, Mr. Mixon retired and is now providing principled mediation and legal strategy consulting services. Mediating a dispute is faster, less expensive, and more flexible than litigating a case in the courts. While General Counsel, Mr. Mixon directed many large and complex securities fraud and business litigation cases. Most of these cases were successfully resolved through the mediation process. Mr. Mixon understands the dynamics of mediation and brings this broad experience to his mediation practice. Constructing an effective legal strategy is essential to achieving a substantial business or public service goal. Mr. Mixon directed all legal strategy at CalPERS for nearly a dozen years. He will work with the client to identify these goals and craft an effective plan to meet them.
