Piggly Wiggly Midwest operates a leading grocery store chain with about 110 locations in Wisconsin and northern Illinois under the Piggly Wiggly and Butera banners. About 20 stores are company-owned and -operated while the rest are franchised, Piggly Wiggly Midwest supplies all of its stores from two distribution centers. It offers carbonated soft drinks, fruit drinks, and drinking and distilled water. As of December 31, 2004, the company owned and operated 21 supermarkets, 2 convenience stores, and franchised 81 supermarkets. FBI operates its supermarkets primarily under the Piggly Wiggly banner and Dick’s banner. It primarily operates in Wisconsin, northern Illinois, and northeastern Iowa. Fresh Brands was founded in 1911 as Schultz Holding Company, Inc. It changed its name to Fresh Brands, Inc. in March 2001. The company is headquartered in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Fresh Brands Inc. is a former subsidiary of Certified Grocers Midwest, Inc.
