About the Company

Southwest Key Programs is a national nonprofit operating innovative youth justice programs and schools, safe shelters for immigrant children, and workforce services impacting over 200,000 youth and families annually. Founded in 1987 by our current El Presidente Dr. Juan Sanchez, Southwest Key employs a creative and diverse workforce of over 2,500 staff in 6 states.

 

About the Person

In her role as General Counsel for Southwest Key, Rachel Luna assists the programs in their legal needs—from contract negotiation to assisting with vendor disputes. Rachel also assists in the drafting of organizational policies and procedures and provides legal guidance in employment-related matters. Rachel received her law degree from the University of Texas and her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University. Before Southwest Key, Rachel worked in private practice as well as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas. Since joining Southwest Key in February of 2006, Rachel has enjoyed the variety of work and challenges she faces as an attorney in a nonprofit setting.
