About the Person

Ms. Rena Hozore Reiss has been Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Marriott International, Inc., since October 19, 2017. Ms. Reiss served as an Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Hyatt Hotels Corporation since August 2010. She provides legal counsel, guidance and strategic advice in support of Hyatt's business activities worldwide, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, while protecting its interests and assets in matters related to business and securities law, litigation, real estate, labor relations, international operations, corporate communications and insurance. In addition, she serves as Corporate Secretary for a number of Hyatt's subsidiary companies. She spent 10 years at Marriott International, Inc. where she was Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel, overseeing a legal team responsible for supporting its development activities in the Americas. From 2000 to 2007, she held a series of increasingly responsible positions at Marriott. Ms. Reiss joined Marriott in 2000 as Senior Counsel focused on North American lodging transactions. She also served as Senior Vice President, Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of Marriott. Prior to entering the hospitality industry, she held positions at: Thomson Muraro Razook & Hart in Miami, Florida, She served as an Associate General Counsel for the Miami Herald Publishing Company and was a Partner with Counts & Kanne, Chartered in Washington, DC. She sits on the Georgetown University Hospitality Law Advisory Board, was Hyatt's representative on the Board of Directors of the American Hotel & Lodging Association and was named a 2017 Transformative Leader by Inside Counsel. She earned her A.B. from Princeton University and her J.D. from Harvard Law School.
