It is the second largest employer with over 22,000 employees and provides instruction to almost 175,000 students. Support from Orange County business partners, caring parents and community-minded citizens is evident by their participation: 47,800 registered volunteers who contribute more than 694,000 hours annually 3,500 school-business partnership agreements 38,905 PTA/PTSA members School Advisory Councils composed of community members, parents and school staff. The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) is an environmentally responsible organization established in 1972 to convey and treat wastewater in Cleveland and surrounding communities. A leader in wastewater management, NEORSD has an operating budget of over $200 million, and an employee population of over 600 people. In 2011, NEORSD launched Project Clean Lake, a 25-year $3 billion federally mandated construction program set to reduce the amount of raw sewage overflows into area waterways.
